The contest will be organized at the center’s central prayer hall at 3 PM local time on Saturday, April 15.

Boys and girls aged 8 to 16 can take part in the Quranic even, planned on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

All of the contenders who can read the entire Surah from memory will be awarded, with the five top contestants being honored at a Quranic circle at the center on the same day.

Those willing to take part in the competition can register by April 3, according to the center.

Ramadan, which started on Thursday, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

The Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart in this month.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.

The Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center is an independent and grassroots religious institution founded by a number of Shia Muslims in 1996.

The center holds various religious and cultural programs throughout the year for Muslims residing in Stockholm and nearby cities.
